Reception Hall BOOKED!!!

This past week was my Spring Break and Skip and I decided we wanted to find and book a reception hall that week. So for five days we looked at four different places. The price range was from $10,000- $20,000 for 200 people. I knew that receptions were the bulk of your budget BUT MY GOD who knew i needed such a LARGE budget. Anyway we looked at all of these places (pictures will be at the bottom) but we ended up choosing The Serbian Social Center. This place is budget friendly and you really get a bang for your dollar. I'm super excited about booking so far in advance because I felt like this was my NUMBER ONE concern. The reception is the PARTY and I want ours to be unforgettable.

Will You Be My Bridesmaid?

Today, I sent out "Will You Be my Bridesmaid?" gifts. I have honestly been working on them for a week. Yes, I know I've only been engaged for a week but this DIY (do it yourself) took over my life. I got this idea a couple years ago I think. But when I saw it I knew that whenever it was my turn I would be sending my girls this gift. Best part is it didn't cost me that much to put together and ship off. Some of my girls are out of town. The gift includes a small silver jewerly box with a ring pop inside (you know the candy) and a card that reads, Will you be my bridesmaid? 11-17-12 Love, Takara. I'll stop babbling now and just show you a picture.

Isn't it darling? I know, I know!!! lol Anyway I hope they love them as much as I do!

Colors Picked!!!

After many hours of searching the Internet and browsing bridal magazines we finally picked our wedding colors.

Clover

Persimmon

Truffle
I really love these colors together. Truffle is a dark brown that goes great with Clover a soft green and a splash of Persimmon which is a pretty orange.  So far wedding planning has taken over my life. I wake up thinking about it and go to sleep and dream about it. I know that God has a plan for me and when that day comes I will be thankful!

Choosing a date and colors

Choosing a date was easy! I had decided months ago that I wanted to get married on November 17, 2012. That is our anniversary and I loved the idea of us not having two anniversaries. So, in my mind that was the PERFECT date. We talked a few times before he proposed and I said that I could pick the date.

Well this picking colors thing isn't so easy. In my mind I knew what I wanted (brown and green with a splash of orange or yellow) but I also wanted to make sure that Skip was happy with my choices also. Lets just say picking colors just isn't his thing. We haven't been talking about it for long, in fact this is only day two of us discussing what colors we want. I went to David's Bridal to pick up some swatches so he could see the colors up close. Skip stopped at the gym first before coming over to my house so he should be here soon. I hope we make a decision tonight because I want to get more into planning every detail.

He proposed to me...April 9, 2011

My grandmother planned a big party for both my little sister and boyfriend Skip. Their birthdays are a day apart so it wasn't weird to be celebrating their birthdays with both of our families. The problem is no one was giving me any information about the party but they wanted me to invite people at the last minute. Well, that wasn't going so well one thing I can't stand is LAST MINUTE stuff. So I refused to invite anyone and I told them if they kept pressing me I wouldn't show up either. I was pretty mad well honestly I was pissed off and EVERYONE involved.

Then the night of the party came, everything was going good! There was at least 30 to 40 people at my grandparents house eating, talking and just having a good time. Then everyone was called into the living room to sing happy birthday, we sung and all of a sudden people wanted to make speeches. My sister was first (keep in mind that she is 10) Her speech was simple "Thank you all for coming to celebrate my birthday with me and Skip!" Then my boyfriend was next, the room was QUIET, I'm talking you could hear a pin drop. He says "My speech involves Takara" (my stomach drops) I walk over to him and he begins to speak again. He starts "Takara we have been together for three years, you helped me grow spiritually and made me smile more than I knew was possible and for that I think you deserve the world. But since I can't give you that I'll give you the next best thing. Takara will you marry me?" iDied!!! Then I said yes! lol  Then he slid the beautifulest ring in the WHOLE world on my finger!

It all really felt like a dream and I was so happy that I was able to share that moment with family and friends, and now I'm sharing it with you!
